"We are never prepared for what we expect." (James Michener)
"The Lord's blessing is our greatest wealth." (Prov. 10:22)
These two thoughts have been tumbling over and over in my mind all day. I have a friend who is expecting a little boy with Down's Syndrome in just over a month. Another friend's sister just had a c-section and now has a little boy having seizures in the NICU. My sweet friend, Emily recently gave birth to a darling little girl with health complications, including a cleft lip and palate. There are scores of women around me who are pregnant. We will be able to see our own precious child through sonogram soon, as well. And all of this has flooded my mind and emotions.
Oh, that I would continue to trust the Lord and place my full reliance on Him! He knows the plans He has for us, and for our children. May I praise Him with full confidence in His goodness!
For a touching perspective on this, that is truly inspiring, read Emily's story of Sadie.
