Braden and the midwife were joking that we could give Tate the nickname, "Juice."
Basicaly, I dramatically increased the amount of fruits and veggies I consumed this pregnancy.
And WHY does this matter?!
It does. Consumption of whole foods is key to good health! This made a BIG difference in my pregnancy and outcome. Let me explain.
First of all, if you go to the JP+ link at the bottom of this site you can go to what the health professionals say and you can listen to or read their comments on the importance of adding whole food nutrition to your diet. Dr. Odom's retrospective study was the impetus behind my increased consumption of whole foods, and my addition of a whole food supplement.
Now, I'm not trying to sell you anything here! I just find this fascinating and I LOVE the truth revealed.
For Tate and me it looks like this:
1) Tate is my baby that was closest to term. The others were all earlier (37-38 weeks.) This matters because term babies tend to nurse better and sleep better. They have more developed digestive and respiratory tracts. Tate has more fat reserves. Which is why he could go the first 8 hours without eating and why Braden and the midwife joked that he had so much great nutrition already in his body that he didn't need anymore! I really think he is my healthiest baby.
2) Recovery. Great nutrition gave me energy for labor and birth and speeds my recovery. This was my best birth in these respects. High levels of vitamin K aid clotting, the berry blend aids circulation (which matters when you have extra bood!). And the supplement I used has folic acid, which we know is important in pregnancy.
I think there was a lot more I wanted to say about this. . . but my brain is betraying me. . . and my time is up, anyway!

That's funny that you mentioned calling the baby "Juice" because that is my husband's nickname. All our college friends still call him by that name only.
It's a little late for me to have a juice plus baby but I think I'll look in to it.
It must be a fine nickname, then! I'm glad you've visited.
It is never too late to improve your family's nutrition! I know that my husband and children have benefitted greatly from JuicePlus+, too. So, even if they didn't get it in utero, we'll make sure that they get it every day now. It's the simplest way I know to prevent disease and improve our health.
Why don't you just stamp the words "Juice Plus" on your baby's forehead to drum up sales?
