What Will the Weekend Hold?

Just another update on the Curtis "situation."

It's Friday afternoon. We have a Law Picnic to attend this afternoon, and that is the only item on the calendar (besides church) for the weekend. Braden starts classes on Monday (which means he has plenty of reading to do beforehand.) He is still holding out hope that Baby could come this weekend.

Statistically, I say, that is more likely than it was yesterday.

This weekend would be interesting for several reasons:
1) My midwife's daughter is getting married tomorrow. Hence, tonight is rehearsal, their home is filled with guests, and tomorrow she is celebrating. Good for her! I am truly glad. Please pray that she would be able to relax and enjoy her family and friends, free of worry for me.
2) My midwife's assistant is ready for any call I make. If nothing is happening, she will go to the wedding with my midwife.
3) There is one other woman who has called upon my midwife this month. Her due date is Sunday. She lives about an hour away. IF she and I were both in labor, AND it was wedding day. . . well, things would be interesting. Pray this does NOT happen!
4) The backup midwife (who will come in addition to the assistant) lives 45 minutes away and has small children. IF my labor proceeds quickly. . . well, you know.
5) On Sunday, the midwife's assistant is driving to Newport News (4 hours away, approximately) to take her son to college.
6) Mr and Mrs T, who were our #1 plan for childcare during labor and delivery, are out of town this weekend visiting her parents to help out after his quadrupal bipass surgery last week. (We DO have other backups, though!)

SO. . . there are windows of opportunity that would work out wonderfully. . . but having our baby this particular weekend is somewhat crazy. (But having a baby is always a bit crazy, I think.) Then again, if Baby doesn't come by Monday, Braden will be back in school. . . and that just doesn't seem ideal, either.

Conclusion: things are not ideal. God apparently doesn't agree with my "ideal" timing. He has other, better plans, and we are going to trust Him for those. Viva la weekend!
