It has taken me almost 2 weeks to find time to post something I have been secretly celebrating each day. I chalk that up to packing, getting ready for our new windows, taking care of business, and becoming larger by the day.
Livia! She's done it! All of a sudden, SHE has decided to tell me (in plenty of time) each time she needs to use the restroom. Days upon days of dry unders! No accidents to clean up, no running out of clean underwear, no exasperated sighs, no cringing at the potty when she says "Oh no. Too late, Mama."
Okay, well maybe not "no more." I'm sure there are still going to be accidents. (For instance, today she was outside on the sidewalk, looking like she needed to go potty. I couldn't really ask her, however, as I was on a quick and yet important phone call. I watched her spread her legs and calmly go potty on the sidewalk. Then she looked at me and said, "Potty, Mama! Uh-oh. Tinkles no go on sidewalk. Tinkles go on potty.") Yes, I see. There are still going to be accidents.
Still! this is worth celebrating! I LOVE the freedom and joy it brings to have my daughter taking initiative and responsibility for going potty. She's such a big girl! And only a month after her 2nd birthday (although she's been wearing underwear for 6 months). I am so pleased that I can't stop smiling. And kissing her sweet cheeks. (I hate that my love can be conditional, but that also makes little things like this worth celebrating!)
So, HOORAY for LIVIA! I love it, and I love HER!

The success of pottying is definitely noteworthy and worth celebrating!!! I love it when they "get it"! Nicholas is fairly new at it himself, and I still think it is great when I am in another room and I hear him go in the bathroom alone and do everything all by himself! So cute! And so freeing!
